ABOUT THE LOFT
The Loft is an out –of school time program that serve disadvantaged youth during the after –school hours and from 8 a.m. to 3p.m during the summer. The Loft operates in New Orleans, Louisiana and the program is free or may be offered at a very low cost to the participants. The Loft serves children from families with economically disadvantaged backgrounds, living at or below the poverty level.
Our Goal
The goal of The Loft is to educate children, which is the long term solution to poverty. The purpose is to demolish ignorance and poverty through interactive program activities for the children. The overall goal of the program is to provide learning experiences to help at-risk children develop fundamental educational tools. These tools include basic literacy, cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills necessary for successful fulfilling school performance but it is not limited to that.
A Place To Call Their Own
The Loft is a place where kids are free to be kids. Students from impoverished neighborhoods and low income families are the target market for the program. This passionate organization help kids change their lives—and realize their full potential. And for many, The Loft helps them choose positive paths they otherwise may never have chosen.
